DescriptionThe Account Assistant is an integral part of an Account Management Team whose primary function is to support the daily operations of the team and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and client retention.
As an Account Assistant in our group you can expect to gain skills, training and experiences that will allow you to continue on a career path that could include promotions to an Account Executive, Account Manager, or Managing Director.
ResponsibilitiesOwnership of the agency management system(s) coding for accurate agency reporting including new business & commission reconciliation. (client, policy, carrier specifics)
Gather and submit bid specifications to carriers and vendors
Preparation of plan benefit and financial comparisons
Preparation of renewal and new business proposals, presentation materials and supporting documents as directed.
Provide claims, eligibility, billing and plan administration advocacy and resolution
Carrier and Vendor contract review
Experience and claims report preparation- oversight provided by AE/AM & Underwriting
Provide general administrative support as requested by account team or management
Experienced individuals may independently manage a small book of business, including documentation of the entire client life-cycle in the agency management system (documents, emails, phone calls, contracts, internal processes and procedures, etc.).
Maintain a current working knowledge of industry legislative and compliance issues including but not limited to COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, FMLA, etc.
Assist in the training and development of all Propel team members
Participate in the development and execution of departmental and company initiatives
Other duties as required by clients, business needs or assigned by account team or management
RequirementsHigh School Diploma required
College degree or course work preferred
Minimum of 1 year customer service experience
Applicable State Insurance License (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire)
