DescriptionSPECIFICALLY SEEKING A FUNDRAISING SPECALIST INTERN
Seeking become a professional accountant but need more training in the field?
Interesting in creating and managing your own business budget?
Looking to start a career in theatre management or business?
This internship is for university students or recent graduates. Degree sought in accounting, business, management, theatre management. Business history suggested. Experience in working in professional theatre suggested. At-home internship, no office time required. Working towards building the best theatre in DC. 10-18 hours a week. No pay in first fiscal year, however, many opportunities for promotion after first 6 months. 6, 12, and 18 month contracts available.
Responsibilities-Reading and replying to financial and business email accounts
-Familiarizing yourself with company mission and vision statements
-Managing creative and artistic budgets
-Creating, updating, and revising show budgets
-Filing and sorting
-Tax-Exempt filing requirements (will teach upon hiring)
-Donor communications (particularly those dealing with tax-exempt requirements)
-Negotiating venue contracts
-Work as ambassador to resident theatre company managers and accountants
-Manage in-office accounts and files
-Work as financial liaison between non-production companies (marketing, advertising, business)
-Weekly conference calls with artistic staff associates
RequirementsDegree in accounting, business, management, theatre management suggested. Business history suggested. Experience working in professional theatre suggested. At-home internship, no office time required. 10-18 hours a week. No pay in first fiscal year, however, many opportunities for promotion after first 6 months. 6, 12, and 18 month contracts available. Must have computer and high-speed internet. Tele-Video communication needed (Skype or Cisco account needed by date of employment.) Should have knowledge in theatre arts and management. Will be required to create and manage company budgets. Should be familiar with theatre management and creative administrative work. Organization and timeliness is a must.
