Description

Luxury women's wear fashion designer based in New York City.

Responsibilities

The Bookkeeper/Operations Manager responsibilities include:

-Invoicing suppliers and other vendors for wholesale production
-Invoicing suppliers and other vendors for designing of the upcoming collection.
-Keep track of company finances and help to manage design and production budgets.
-Develop an office budget and manage vendor relationships and negotiations to stay within the budget.
-Establish protocols for office operations and maintain a clean and comfortable office area, gently encouraging all employees to do the same.
-Bookkeeping functions (including AR/AP, bank reconciliations, tax remittances, employee expenses, credit card reconciliations, etc.).
-Maintain office supplies, accounts, and files (paper and paperless),
-Recommend and implement process improvements to create greater efficiency.
-Track expiration of business licenses, insurance, W-9s, etc.
-The Operations Manager/Bookkeeper reports to CEO of the company. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to be a part of a dynamic team, cares about the big and small details, enjoys creating systems and solutions, and wants to make an impact in their own special way.

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:
-A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration or equivalent work experience
-A genuine interest in the fashion industry
-Minimum of two-five years overall professional office management or bookkeeping experience and working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and applications, and nonprofit financial management.
-Demonstrably excellent skills in office software (MS Office, Google Drive).
-Experience generating invoices in QuickBooks (or ability to learn quickly).
-Excellent ability to establish priorities, coordinate work activities, multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced dynamic work environment with accuracy and attention to detail; Resourceful and able to find creative solutions, thinking beyond current systems and approaches toward continual improvement.
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-Proactive, entrepreneurial team player with a sense of humor and a genuine interest in fashion.
-Flexibility in scheduling work hours.

This is a temp-to-perm hourly position. If the right candidate shows a commitment to the job and the company, then there is a possibility of making this a permanent arrangement.
