We are looking for a highly dedicated individual with an interest in editing and public affairs for an editorial internship at VertiKal Magazine, located in Online. The intern will contribute to the production of Globally nominated as Best Global Magazine for 2013, VertiKal Magazine.
Editorial assistants provide assistance in all stages of the magazines and a broad range of publicity materials. They support senior editorial staff in the administration of the commissioning, planning and production of publications.
The editorial internship allows individuals to participate in all areas of magazine production, with an emphasis on transcription, fact checking and proofreading. Though the position emphasizes editorial work, there may be opportunities for light writing and research as well.

This is an unpaid internship.
ResponsibilitiesDuties specifically include:
• Writing and fact checking ad listings for upcoming events.
• Light administrative tasks.
• Copy editing and proofreading magazine, monthly events update and web listings.
• Laying out magazine components within an established template, using Adobe InDesign.
• Attend meetings.
The positions are located Worldwide. Most positions can be done virtually. Requirements• Excellent writing and proofreading skills.
• Ability to type 40+ wpm.
• Strong Internet research skills.
• Familiarity with using style guides, preferably Associated Press style.
• Strong interest in current events.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work effectively on a team.
• Familiarity with Macs and MS Word.
• Familiarity with Adobe InDesign and Acrobat desired, but not required.
• Have a social media account (Facebook, Twitter, Pinetrest etc.)
