DescriptionWaterwell is an acclaimed ensemble theater company dedicated to the creation of new plays and new adaptations of classic texts. We partner with the Professional Performing Arts School (PPAS) to deliver top-quality, year-round, in-school drama training to 200 NYC public school students grades 6-12. This innovative training connects voice and movement work with devising and scene study; artistic interpretation alongside original creation. Students also work with professional directors, designers and stage managers on rehearsal projects and productions including a commissioned New Works Lab. Waterwell’s program at PPAS is a truly exceptional unification of theater’s professional and educational spheres. It is of NYC's premiere training ground for young artists, innovators and leaders.
Starting in September, Waterwell seeks a part-time Arts Education Intern (15-25 hours/week) to join our passionate, dedicated team. Must take initiative and demonstrate interest in youth development and arts with superior organizational skills. The internship will focus on arts administration with the option to include curriculum or production work, tailored to the intern’s interests. Ideal candidate will be available 3-6 months.
Interns currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate programs will also be eligible for academic credit, pending approval from university administration. Please note that the internship is unpaid at this time.
Please send cover letter, resume, and availability to Rebecca@waterwell.org with the subject INTERNSHIP as soon as possible.
