DescriptionThe vision of Somali Community & Cultural Association (SCCA) is to integrate the Somali community fully into American life, with harmony and peace; while maintaining their Somali culture, religion, and values. The SCCA builds stronger community through education and advocacy. Although the Somali community in Massachusetts is large, our population is new to democracy, advocacy and civic participation. We want to help all Somalis identify the issues important to them and empower the community to engage and take action. Our focus is the inclusion of all Somali people, including women and the disenfranchised, to ensure that all benefit from our new found freedoms as Americans. Executive Assistant (Somali Community & Cultural Association) The Executive Assistant will act as the primary support for the Executive Director SCCA performing general administrative tasks including calendaring/scheduling, filing, writing correspondence and management tasks, as well as other project management duties as assigned. RequirementsProficient in Microsoft Office-MS Word, Excel, Outlook
Excellent attention to detail and a strong grasp of administrative duties
Able to shift gears and reprioritize with the constantly changing demands
Takes initiative, maintains a high degree of confidentiality
Works very well under pressure in a high-paced, deadline-driven environment
Able to work both independently and take direction
Clear communicator with strong interpersonal skills
Strong organizational skills?ability to juggle several projects at one time.
