DescriptionEmployer: GeckoCap is a growing health-IT startup that is developing solutions for asthma medication adherence using mobile technology. Founding team includes MIT grads with prior startup success and we are developing a new product that helps kids manage their asthma medication. GeckoCap was born at the MIT Media Lab “New Media Medicine Hackathon” where it won the top prize and was also a semifinalist in the MIT 100K BPC. We are currently part of the MassChallange finalists.
Compensation: Internship is paid and/ or for credit. Compensation also includes work experience in a real-world startup and interaction with experienced founders at a winning Health-IT company.
Successful interns may have opportunity to grow with the company.
Job description: GeckoCap is a mission driven company, and we are looking for people that share our vision of changing the future of children with asthma and their families. We are seeking someone who is a smart, driven and creative with entrepreneurial energy that can help with marketing, business development, and content for the product development. This person will work directly with the CEO and CTO and will have the opportunity to interface with various functional elements outside the company.
Performs administrative duties for executive management. Responsibilities may include screening calls; managing calendars; making travel, meeting and event arrangements; preparing reports and financial data; training and supervising other support staff; and customer relations. Requires strong computer and Internet research skills, flexibility, excellent interpersonal skills, project coordination experience, and the ability to work well with all levels of staff, as well as outside clients and vendors. Sensitivity to confidential matters may be required.
o Help coordinate and compile consumer and industry research
o Update and maintain contacts.
o Help create and post content for the product and website.
o Contact, cold-calling and emailing prospectives
o Help plan and execute pilot evaluation programs
o Additional administrative tasks as needed

You MUST be: highly articulate (written and spoken), personable, confident, intellectually curious, a fast learner, a motivated self-starter, detail oriented, organized, interested in startups and HCIT, and fun to work with!
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with technical and non-technical writing.
• Exceptional research, communication skills
• Technology-savvy: Very interested in Healthcare, innovation, and technology
