Professional Probation Services, Inc. provides professional court services and sentencing alternatives to courts, communities, and offenders in the United States. It offers GPS monitoring services; and drug screening, indigent supervision, and job skills training services. The company was founded in 1992 and is based in Norcross, Georgia. Professional Probation Services, Inc. operates as a subsidiary of Universal Health Services Inc. This will be an ongoing posting. The intern will act as an assistant to the probation staff and learn most aspects of the job. A successful intern will leave the posting with a letter of recommendation and the ability to submit a resume to the corporate office to work in any of our offices across the nation. We have a track record of hiring our interns that successfully complete the internship program!


You will:
Attend and participate in all court sessions.
Confer with the court staff on cases.
Prepare warrants.
Assist probation staff with maintaining computerized records for every sentenced offender.
Prepare and file revocation petitions, modification orders, and coordinate scheduling for hearings.
Shadow probation staff while they collect fines, court costs, and restitution from defendants.
Make phone calls to defendants to assist with caseload management and prepare missed appointment letters.


Enrolled in a Criminal Justice degree track with at least 3.0 GPA.
Computer "savvy" and the ability to type at least 30 words per minute.
Able to work a part-time schedule within a Monday - Friday, 9am to 5pm time frame.
Be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
Prior office experience is *highly preferred*.
