ResponsibilitiesJob Description and Responsibilities
The Senior Tax Analyst is responsible for assisting in tax compliance, planning, accounting and audit defense projects for EVRAZ North America. Reports to the Manager of Tax.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
Preparation of the Company’s U.S. and Canadian federal, state and local, provincial income tax returns, including gathering data, preparing work papers, and account analysis.
Preparation of federal, state, and provincial tax estimates and extensions.
Preparation of monthly cash tax forecasting
Review of property tax filings
Assist in the preparation of U.S. and Canadian quarterly and annual tax provision computations under US GAAP and IFRS.
Monitor Federal and Multi-State Tax legislation and regulations and communicate relevant positions to management and business units.
Research various federal, state, and provincial tax related issues.
Provide support on indirect tax matters (Sales and use, GST/PST/HST).
Assist in data collection for federal, state, and provincial tax audits.
Assist with special projects.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting
CPA, MST preferred
Requires 3-5 years federal and state income tax accounting and compliance experience within a Big 4 public accounting firm, or multinational corporate tax department.
Expertise with Microsoft Office products particularly Excel required; experience One Source Tax Provision and Insource Income Tax software a plus
Experience with Oracle accounting software a plus
Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills
Must be able to complete work in an organized and well documented manner.
