DescriptionThe Construction Project Manager is in charge of implementing the overall project plan for construction activities, delivering the projects within budget and at pre-determined cost level. This individual will work closely with the client providing status updates on timelines as well as budgeted costs and will be responsible for all documentation for change orders. The Construction PM will most likely be working on multiple projects for the commercial retail client.
ResponsibilitiesESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participates in initial customer meetings with the sales force and Account Manager to define project requirements, customer interface protocols, becomes proficient within customer portals for reporting and billing requirements and database activities within WinDMS system.
Once the project is awarded, reviews requirements with client contact, sets up locations in WinDMS, engages vendor partners, establishes a location specific plan, establishes customer billing contact, agrees on billing and project reporting procedures, secures customer approval as needed, seeks bids from and negotiates subcontractor pricing. Follows budgeted cost templates; updates the WinDMS database on a timely basis.
Obtains and reviews preliminary surveys and develops specific sign locations, conducts technical surveys, finalizes recommendations for signs, obtains customer approvals and completion photos for billing, and enters / initiates the Control Order. Prepares the billing package for the Account Manager's review, monitors accounts receivable and coordinates with Accounting/Credit to minimize delinquencies.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience is required (Construction Management degrees are preferred).
3-5 years of Retail and/or Commercial project management experience in a multi-state environment is required.
Specific experience with the construction trades that operate on a regional or national level is preferred.
This individual must be computer literate and fluent in word processing, database, and spreadsheet applications, (MS Office products primarily).
Experience using computer-based project tracking systems to monitor project status would be extremely helpful.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to operate successfully in a fast-paced environment.
Proven ability to collaborate and interface successfully with a dedicated team of customers and employees from Project Management, Sales, Finance/Accounting, and MIS.
