The Administrative Intern develops building-level administrative skills by assisting the Director/Principal and other members of the Ampersand School staff in providing professional leadership to organize, administer, and provide support for a forward-thinking, creative, unique, and innovative small independent private school program.
You are expected to work 5 - 20 hours a week

Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions
Must occasionally work in noisy and crowded environments, with numerous interruptions.
Organize and collect progress reports
Monitor project calendar, ensuring project is on schedule and in budget
Serve as the Director’s liaison with designated groups and organizations
Prepare and disseminate approved Ampersand School policies and procedures
Interpret policies and procedures of Ampersand School to employees and the public
Coordinate overall activities of Human Resource services
Serve as a resource to administrators and other personnel for policy information, procedural, legal, and other administrative matters
Assist in the preparation of Staff, Advisory, Board meeting agenda.
Compile research, statistics, and gather other such data as the Superintendent may require.
Conduct Administrative hearings as required.
Coordinate the recruitment and selection of administrative personnel
Supervise teacher mentoring and new teacher induction
Evaluate and assess the effectiveness of support services and programs
Ability to support the functions of the school including student discipline and other supervisory duties as assigned by the principal
Ability to assist the principal and administrative team in the overall administration of the school
Ability to keep current on changes and developments in the profession by attending professional meetings, reading professional journals and other publications, and discussing concerns of mutual interest with others in the field
Ability to attend extracurricular activities scheduled during the day or in the evening
Ability to instill and promote quality instructional programs in the school and to ensure high levels of achievement from all students
Ability to implement and follow all Ampersand School (FLDOE) health and safety policies, including all precautions of the Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Control Plan
Ability to perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as assigned by the director/principal

Each intern must provide verification that he/she is receiving college-level academic credit or completion of hours for requirement for a course for the internship prior to beginning the assignment.
