Description

Do you have experience in production administration support and a background in SQL Server? The Database Administrator will be in charge of installing and administering SQL Server and MySQL in a fast paced, high transactional environment. Responsibilities

Administering SQL Server and MySQL in a highly transactional environment
Clustering, database mirroring, and other high availability implementations
Configure database monitoring utilities to minimize false alarms and alert to upcoming problems
Plan and implement disaster recovery solutions across multi-site environments
Deploy database change scripts provided by third party vendors
When performance issues arise, determine the most effective way to increase performance including hardware purchases, server configuration changes, or index/query changes
Finding queries to answer questions about server-level performance
Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for production support
Maintain development, QA, staging, and production environments
Install database software, upgrades, and new releases
Backup, restore, recovery, compliance

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience
At least 3-5 years of experience as a Database Administrator in medium to large sized organization
Excellent understanding of coding and troubleshooting Microsoft T-SQL
MySQL skills preferred
Ability to mentor more junior members of the DBA staff
Experience with cloud database technologies
Familiar with monitoring tools like Idera
Experience using Sys-Party monitoring tools to troubleshoot hardware
Intermediate knowledge of Windows Operating Systems preferred
Communication skills are a must
Knowledge of Red Gate tools like SQL Compare to promote code between environments
Ability to find queries to answer questions about server-level performance
Ability to tune T-SQL queries to improve performance
