DescriptionPurpose Support the American Red Cross mission of helping people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies by assisting with the organization of training volunteers.
Key Responsibilities Implement and develop training schedule for staff and volunteers in Franklin, Madison and Delaware Counties
Work in conjunction with other members to support required disaster training for chapter staff and volunteers
Work with Workforce Engagement Manager to address retention and recognition of volunteers
Coordinate with ES Dept for the onboarding of all disaster volunteers including DAT and G/A/PS (basic training to cover Steady State/Response).
Become knowledgeable in response activities and will complete instructor curriculum enabling them to teach disaster courses or give disaster presentations to staff, volunteers or the public.
Will be responsible for coordination of all Disaster Cycle Services activity leads, such as Mass Care, Logistics, Disaster Services Technology and Damage Assessment activities.
Reports To Disaster Program Manager
Time Commitment 15-20 hours/week minimum. Flexible, during business week (Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm)
Length of Appointment One Semester
Qualifications Able to consistently communicate between email and telephone
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Education or training background (preferred)
Knowledge of MS Office required and willingness to learn new programs
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a changeable, fast-paced environment
