We will start by going out into the community to see exactly what the biggest concerns are that are affecting our society. We intend on making our nation more aware of the concerns of the less fortunate and victimized. As well as getting individuals more involved in the communities, and providing the communities with the fundamental tools to help individuals reach their goals.
Nurturing America is a new organization that is partnering with seasoned professionals while also discovering fresh talent to employ in order to establish Nurturing America as a diversified and leading organization. This opportunity will cultivate students interested in social justice, economic empowerment, business development community healing, legislative changes, healthcare reform, environmental policies and mentoring the youth. We are looking for individuals to convey Nurturing America's vision/mission into a life-changing experience and/or career!
Nurturing America Inc. is in need of an administrative assistant that is looking to gain extensive experience in office administration or non-profit work. This position will include basic administrative tasks such as typing, filling, organizing documents, researching issues, scheduling conferences with partners and potential donors, searching for events that are related to our mission. Other intern duties will include assisting with: fundraising, research grant opportunities, market research, event planning, event invitation and fundraising preparation, staffing events, and sit in on team meetings and other meeting with different leaders in the community.
Responsibilitieso Manage incoming calls and inquiries
o Typing/filing/organizing documents
o Scheduling meetings
o Researching events/booking events
o Researching fundraising campaigns/grant opportunities
o Researching issues/laws/statistics/
o Input monthly transactions in accounting systems
o Reconcile books in a timely manner
sponsor relations (letters, phone calls, procurement)
event logistics (set up, tear down, signage, registration)
o Review and analyze proposed legislation or policy/regulatory changes
o Interact with legislative and government offices on policy issues
o Assist in preparing for meetings with company and community leaders, including agenda, preparation and mailing, follow-up phone calls, meeting research and minutes. Coordinators are also encouraged to attend the meetings they have helped to arrange to learn and to make contacts.
o Prepare and present information to sponsors, donors, professionals, and public officials. Anticipate and be prepared to answer questions on issues.
Requirements- Web cam
- Currently pursuing BA/BS or 2-year degree
- Prefer junior or senior, but will consider other levels
- Prefer GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Flexible, with excellent teamwork skills
- Strong communication skills
- Time Commitment: This is a volunteer internship position. College credit may be available through your school. Interns must commit to a minimum of fifteen hours per week for a minimum of three months. Individual circumstances will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
-Must be a reliable, self-motivated and independent worker who is also comfortable working in small and large group situations, as well as various work environments, and in management roles as needed.
