ResponsibilitiesPosition Description ~ Operations Coordinator
As an Operations Coordinator for the Jamaican Heritage Society, you will work directly with the President and Founder managing the day-to-day operation of a non-profit organization. This internship is ideal for anyone interested in learning the inner workings of a non-profit and who wants unfettered access to everything a founder experiences when starting a company.
Your primary responsibilities:
Assist in promoting the organization’s initiatives
Assist in the creation and distribution of information designed to educate, inspire and entertain our target audience
Monitor the organization's social media platforms
Manage calendar and e-mail correspondence (as assigned)
Ensure smooth operation of administrative functions
Assist in the planning and staffing of events
Exceptional oral and written communication skills
Extremely detail-oriented and organized
Proficient in use of social media marketing and platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pinterest, Linked In)
Ability to work independently
This position requires working a minimum of 10 hours per week for a period of 6 months or longer. A minimum of 3-hours per week must be worked between the hours of 8am and 6pm.
This is an unpaid internship.
