Peers Available to Help Seniors project is geared toward providing help from seniors for seniors who have trouble completing their everyday tasks. We look to employ seniors who are physically able to complete everyday tasks for themselves as well as others.
To assist seniors living in the community with the personal assistance they need to complete their daily tasks. It is our goal to strengthen the quality of life and exceed the expectations of those who are seeking our services.
ResponsibilitiesStudent would receive an orientation to program. Intern would be assigned to shadow a case manager to become familiar with the intake and assessment process, eventually taking on a small caseload. A great opportunity to use community engagement skills, marketing, and relationship building. They would participate in and present at senior center presentations, work closely with Executive Director. Assist Case Manager with advertisement and promotion, assist with mass mailings, outreach activities, and community workshops.
RequirementsInternship/student can be enrolled in one of the following programs: Women's Studies, Human Services, Marketing, Gerontology, Social Work, or Psychology. Possible Stipend Available
Driver's License Needed
Must be at least 21
Orientation or Training
1-2 days per week
