BIGfish Communications is a boutique agency based in Brookline that provides public relations and social media services for disruptive brands, companies and ideas. We help our clients redefine industries through thoughtful storytelling and strategic campaigns. The tight-knit BIGfish team is comprised of individuals with diverse backgrounds spanning marketing, public relations, social media, website development, branding, copywriting and graphic design.

About the Candidate
BIGfish is seeking a motivated, energetic and highly organized individual to act as a part-time public relations intern. Marketing and communications majors in their junior and senior years of college with past internship experience are preferred. Excellent communication skills and a strong interest in public relations, social media and technology are essential to succeed in this position.

Reports to: Assistant Account Manager

About the Job
BIGfish interns support the account team members with their day-to-day responsibilities managing clients and executing campaigns. Intern responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Public Relations
Building and maintaining media lists
Drafting and editing copy for press releases, newsletters, pitches and media materials
Securing print and online coverage for clients through targeted media outreach
Writing media backgrounder documents for clients prior to briefings
Reviewing incoming HAROs and Google Alerts
Tracking all press coverage, clipping press hits and creating monthly press hits reports

Social Media
Drafting and posting Facebook posts and tweets on behalf of BIGfish and its clients
Writing and editing blog posts and website articles
Developing online contests and promoting them via social media

Maintaining events/awards/speaking engagement calendars for clients
Researching industry trends and staying up-to-date on current events
Drafting web copy, brochures and other marketing materials
Contributing toward strategic positioning and messaging documents

Attending meetings and taking notes
Answering incoming calls
Additional tasks as needed
