DescriptionOur culture is supportive, collaborative and as trite as it sounds, much like a family (the functional kind). The Cove is a creative and frenetic, albeit peaceful place. We don’t take ourselves seriously but are very serious about our client’s businesses.
The Trainees are the backbone of our organization and embody everything we believe in.
ResponsibilitiesThis is not Mad Men. Great Trainees understand that every task matters. You don’t get anywhere in life without a little grunt work. Answering phones, scanning articles, going to Costco, and making media drops at 5 AM wearing the Dunkin' Donuts mascot costumes, are some of the typical “intern” duties.
However, you will be groomed to act like a professional. How to write an effective email. How to handle delicate situations. How to be an ambassador for Decibel Blue outside of the Cove.
You will be trained in marketing/advertising/public relations. The ins-and-outs of writing press releases, assembling editorial calendars, pitching reporters, helping clients, developing ad campaigns, using social media. And then some.
We will constantly challenge you to prove that you belong. We watch how you represent Decibel Blue and we hear how you interact with our clients and friends. We are casual and like to have fun, but this is still a business. We don't care if you have your Facebook page open, but deadlines better be met. Your tasks are your responsibility. Learn from your mistakes. Better yet, teach the Trainee who just started so they don't make the same ones.
You have to earn that Decibel Blue credential on your resume. We don’t hand it out to just anyone. Treat Decibel Blue like a college course, take it seriously, work hard/have fun, and you will get your credit.
Real life experience is precious. We want you to have it here at Decibel Blue.
