Description

Valley shepherd is a working sheep and cow dairy milking close to 700 animals and producing over 25 types of artisanal cheeses.
7-10 months or more ending Dec 1, 2017 or longer

J1 internship for the longer internship.

Responsibilities

the internship will involve work in three areas;
1- making many types of cheese with us in the production room. Sheep, goat and cow milk.
2- driving to farmer markets and selling cheese to the public. (markets are in NJ and in NYC)
3- working in our cheese cave managing our aging cheese.

days off: one or two days. Monday and/or Tuesday
pay: fixed pay of $300/week net .
Housing: Provided free on the farm, two to a room. House has kitchen for cooking.
transportation; a car is available for local driving.
farm area; 45 minutes by train from NYC.

Requirements

requirements;
Able to lift 35 kg wheel of cheese and in good condition.
NON SMOKING
good driving ability. you will drive in NY city
good English. we will have a video Skype interview.
good with people and customers.
