DescriptionWe are seeking an International Agribusiness Intern to work as a Junior Project Manager who will be primarily responsible for supporting the principals in a small fruit farm and production project, to include planning, research, implementing, and acquiring an international property in Panama. The project goal is to develop a self-sustainable property to help create jobs, improve the livelihood of the community, while benefiting flora and fauna. All travel expenses, housing, and food are paid for while in Panama.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Undertake soil analysis on the property to determine the most effective items to grow on the land while looking at hydroponics opportunities
Conduct market research by interviewing local farmers and analyze data to compile information to produce reports on market supply and demand
Develop a business plan and consult with major stakeholders, farmers, government
officials and the private sector in areas of agriculture and reforestation.
Identify and explain the financing, marketing and management of procuring &
Research training and enhance skills related to the design, acquisition and
implementation of a small farm
Improve or promote quantity of work while adhering to quality company standards by demonstrating accuracy, thoroughness, timeliness, and attention to detail.
Research and interpret national and international laws, rules, policies, procedures, or systems related to the project and non-citizens of Panama.
Track and report project activity and data in automated systems and other required records to implement a profitable and sustainable project.

ResponsibilitiesYou will be the right hand person to the principals and will be needed on a daily basis. You will complete a multitude of tasks daily involving all aspects of farming.
Some physical labor and you should have a hard working attitude and a passion for the environment.
College educated in Agribusiness, Agricultural Management, Crop Farm Management, Land Management, Environmental Resources, Agricultural Mathematics, Sustainable Forestry, Reforestation Forestry, or Agricultural Economic Policy and Market Analysis, or International Business. A Business Major with interest in Agriculture/Forestry would also be considered.
Must be at least a Sophomore, Junior or Senior, Graduate, or PhD student
Bilingual in Spanish and English
Must have valid Passport
Able to travel to Panama per trip throughout a 1 - 3 month project.
Savvy internet skills with strong knowledge in research and analysis
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite software applications
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage projects simultaneously to meet deadlines
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work independently and in strict confidence
Must be physically fit to frequently travel and conduct occasional walking tours of farmlands, forests, and country-sides
Able to pass criminal background check and drug testing
