This internship offers you the opportunity to help conduct research in the Guatemalan highlands for 10 days: December 26th - January 4th, 2017. Follow up research will be conducted remotely from your home or university. Your work will be used in the development of a guide to that region.
RequirementsWe are currently looking for interns for the following expeditions:
Guatemala is known for its gentle way of life, expansive highlands dotted with venting volcanoes, deep-rooted Mayan heritage, and delicious cuisine. This internship combines exploration of the Guatemalan highlands and academic research with the ultimate goal of publishing a cultural guide to the region. The research team organized for this expedition will spend 10 days exploring the culture and faraway regions of northwest Guatemala traveling predominantly by foot to access and document the natural and cultural resources of this remote region. University instructors and local guides will lead the team throughout the expedition.
•6 Positions available. We are looking for students with backgrounds in travel writing/blogging, anthropology, as well as students interested in the making of a documentary of the expedition.
•Action Research at expedition destination (December 26-January 4th).
•Mobile Research from any location (1-3 months/10 hours per week following field visit)
•Interested in earning college credit? We will work with your university to ensure that you receive 3-6 credits for your contribution to the field guide.
