The ThYck Troupe Organization, a start-up 501(c)(3) performing arts company for women, based in Chicago, IL, is in great need of interns looking to pursue careers in event planning, social media marketing and non-profit administration/management. As an organization, we exist to promote and encourage diversity in the arts as it applies to reversing societal stigmas and combating media biases of the full-figured artist. Our motto is... "Talent, beauty and influence should not be limited to size".

Responsibilities

VARIOUS POSITIONS AVAILABLE, including Fundraising Coordinator, Community Outreach Coordinator, Graphic Designer, Grant Researcher, Registration Coordinator, Scheduling Coordinator, Volunteer Coordinator, Videographer, Event Planning Coordinator and Social Media Liaison.

Day-to-day tasks would vary with each position, but the general tasks for ALL POSITIONS include Working with the Artistic Director/CEO to manage the Thyck Troupe class, event, rehearsal and workshop date, times, and locations, manage and maintain an online CALENDAR for various activities, scheduling and booking Specialty Workshop Instructors for various programs, distributing e-blasts confirming any class updates, changes, cancellations,
requirements and/or other necessary communications between program participants and the Thyck Troupe™, scheduling & facilitating volunteer meetings, orientations & open houses, maintaining volunteer and donor databases.

Requirements

Community-building and volunteer management skills, verbal, writing, editing and proofreading skills, the ability to build positive relationships, Strong organizational skills, Flexibility and openness to new ideas and feedback, Ability to independently initiate projects and activities, Good client interactions skills, Ability to maintain company confidentiality, Dedication, motivation, drive, ambition, and commitment to the job at hand and a great sense of humor.
