Fred Torres Gallery is currently accepting applications for our Spring/Summer 2014 internship position. Fred Torres Gallery seeks a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and tech savvy intern to assist in daily operations of the gallery. The intern will work closely with the Founder Fred Torres and Gallery Liaison. The position is an opportunity to gain first-hand knowledge of gallery management and an understanding of an established Chelsea gallery. Interns will be involved in many tasks, including web content management, database management, image processing, archiving press, light art handling and packing, front desk reception and interacting with gallery visitors. Ideal candidates will have long-term goals of working in the art world and will complete this internship in conjunction with undergraduate or graduate coursework in fine arts, art history, or arts administration. Interns work 2 - 3 days per week from 12pm - 6pm. While this internship is unpaid, school credit can be arranged.

Fred Torres Gallery works with artists, galleries, curators, and museums in producing and promoting exhibitions in New York and around the world. In 2008, Fred Torres Gallery opened an exhibition space in Chelsea, which serves as an incubator for emerging artists, an experimental space for established artists, and a venue to host other arts related programming.
