DescriptionThe International Photography Hall of Fame and Museum Is Now Accepting Applications for Spring Internships (Part-Time/Unpaid)
The International Photography Hall of Fame and Museum is the only non-profit organization in the world whose purpose is to celebrate the achievements of the inventors, pioneers, and pivotal artists throughout the history of photography. The IPHF has preserved the art of photography and its contribution to modern civilization since 1965, and is the proud home to over 6,000 historical cameras and 30,000 images. The IPHF is located in the Grand Center Arts District in St. Louis, Missouri. For more information, please visit www.iphf.org.
The IPHF exhibits its permanent collection and hosts an ambitious schedule of special exhibitions as well as educational and outreach programs. IPHF interns have the unique opportunity to participate in the development and expansion of these programs and operations. IPHF Interns will work with staff and volunteers to conduct research, prepare written proposals, and manage regular tasks that contribute to the daily operations of the museum.
IPHF Internships are available in the following areas: Curatorial and Archives Research, Public Programs and Marketing, Fundraising, Special Projects, and Visitor Services.
Self-starter; able to work well without constant direction
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Knowledge of Microsoft Office
Should be a creative thinker who works well within a team
Students with an interest in photography and working in a museum environment are encouraged to apply
This is an exciting opportunity to intern at a newly relocated art museum where you will have a direct impact on its growth and success. IPHF prefers applicants who are college juniors or above and in good academic standing, although exceptional underclass students will be considered. Work schedules are flexible based on class schedules and internship credit requirements. Internships are part-time and unpaid and students should be prepared to commit on average 5-15 hours per week. IPHF has internships available in the fall, spring, and summer semesters.
Please email a completed internship application form, resume, cover letter and two letters of recommendation to Kathy Bradley, Director of Operations at firstname.lastname@example.org.
