DEFIBRILLATOR MISSION STATEMENT
Committed to presenting a vast range of styles and forms of time-based art, DEFIBRILLATOR is a non-profit 501c3 arts organization dedicated to fostering local talent while invigorating the Chicago art community with out-of-town [often international] artists. Contextualizing performance within visual art, we often present action-based or conceptual work by artists who look to endurance, the body, objects and architecture for inspiration, research and practice. Providing opportunities for established and emerging artists alike, DEFIBRILLATOR cultivates a resourceful and supportive artistic community. We provide a gathering place to conceive, present, and promote performance and other ephemeral forms of expression. Diverse programming, decidedly fearless and unique, aims to provoke thought and stimulate discourse surrounding performance art.

Description
The Technology and Installation Intern will oversee the artist’s logistical needs at all performances and events.

Responsibilities
• Installation of performance works
• Working with artists to install and de-install
• Work with basic Sound & Light systems

Requirements
• Should be familiar with working with: power tools, wood and basic hardware,
• Needs to be able to lift heavy objects & traverse stairs & climb ladders
• Willing to work weekends & evenings at gallery on occasion
• Must attend the monthly DFB meeting
• 18 years of age or older
