DescriptionThe program assistant will work with the Arts Education Coordinator, to help with general coordination for a new afterschool art program provided by the LASC. Duties will vary throughout the program, but will include tasks such as compiling student and family contact information, preparing samples and materials for lessons, framing artwork, helping organize a family celebration night, etc. This individual should be organized, flexible, able to work independently and prioritize multiple time sensitive tasks, and good with email, phone, and interpersonal communication. Knowledge of art and elementary education are a plus. Ideally the Program Assistant will work at least 60 during the Fall Semester. This position will also be available for the Spring semester, (January-May 2016) with a new or continuing intern. This is an unpaid internship.

Requirements• Must be 18 and currently enrolled in a higher education program
• Must pass a simple background check ($30 fee)
• Organized and able to work independently
• Capacity to work with multiple age groups
• Background in Art or Education a plus
