Description

Autumn, 2016
Guarisco Gallery, an internationally known fine arts gallery located at the Ritz-Carlton in the West End district of Washington, D.C., specializes in 19th- and early 20th-century European and American paintings and sculptures. The gallery is a fast-paced retail environment with an extensive collection of over 600 paintings and nearly 100 sculptures.

Guarisco Gallery offers competitive internships to undergraduate students of art history, who seek to learn about the art gallery business, the secondary art market, and 19th- and early 20th-century artwork in general. Qualified candidates will be dependable, responsible, intellectually curious, and self-motivated students of art history.

To apply, please send a letter of interest and résumé outlining related coursework and relative experience to: gwest@guariscogallery.com

Responsibilities

The internships are unpaid and will entail: completing office duties, including filing, answering the phones and door, filling catalogue requests, completing mailings, etc.; as well as researching artists and works of art.
The gallery is open Monday through Friday, 9-6, and Saturday and Sunday, 10-5. Hours of internship will be arranged with the applicant. Interns will be asked to work weekend days.
