DescriptionCITYarts engages youth in collaboration with professional artists in the creation of public art, which includes murals and mosaics. Through the creative process, CITYarts empowers, educates, and connect youth locally and globally to become active participants in realizing their potential to transform communities.
Since 1968 CITYarts, a public non-profit has created over 300 projects that have transformed communities and impacted over 100,000 kids, collaborated with more than 500 artists, partnered with over 1,500 sponsors, and engaged over 500,000 volunteers in the creative process.
Project/Artist Assistant Interns will work on-site at CITYarts' public art projects. They are expected to coordinate volunteers, distribute flyers, and contact the community board and after school groups. They will assist the artist with painting murals, or restoring mosaics. They will assist with set-up and clean-up on site each day, as well as any project planning elements when needed.
A CITYarts internship offers a comprehensive introduction to the non-profit art world and can provide meaningful professional development to a committed and motivated individual. School credit, meal & transportation stipend will be provided.
Interns design their own schedule with CITYarts’ staff. Average of 15-20 hours a week.
