Description

KD/MovingGround (KD/MG) creates new forms of performance work and evolves interdisciplinary thinking between the fields of dance and theater, among other disciplines. KD/MG uses performance training and production to engage performers, audience and community members in active dialogue toward a socially just world. Returning themes include: war, technology, isolation, love, and the tragic, and comedic ways we negotiate being human. Performance forms include ensemble devised dance and theater, site-specific work, audience-interactive experiences, original solo theater works, and improvisational dance and theater. Venues are determined by the material content, thematic and aesthetic values of each particular work. Artistic Director, Krista DeNio has been creating work in the Bay Area and around the country since 1997. KD/MG serves the San Francisco/ Bay Area, and has created work in Colorado, New York, New Mexico, Western Massachusetts, and Europe.
