Description

Culture and the arts are the means by which Puerto Ricans process and express their history, experiences, and identity. They reflect our values and customs and strengthen our bonds as a people. In understanding the current migration patterns of Puerto Ricans and the increased population of the stateside Puerto Rican Diaspora, it has become imperative that Puerto Ricans be educated on important social, economic, education, civic and health issues that affect their well-being; engaged in the examination of the elements and structure of such issues as a basis for discussion and interpretation; and empowered to facilitate change and evaluate effectiveness. These overarching goals are being advanced in the Northeast Region through the Creative Arts Network of the Puerto Rican Diaspora.

Responsibilities

Intern will develop relationships with Puerto Rican artists and arts organizations both in Puerto Rico and stateside; promote initiatives; coordinate and document local events.

Requirements

The Puerto Rico Federal Affairs Administration (PRFAA) seeks an intern to help in facilitating communication and advancing of Creative Network projects, both in the states and Puerto Rico.

Candidate must be organized, self-motivated, and possess strong communication and writing skills. Candidate must have a strong interest in the arts. Bilingual: Spanish/English candidates preferred
