DescriptionCulture and the arts are the means by which Puerto Ricans process and express their history, experiences, and identity. They reflect our values and customs and strengthen our bonds as a people. In understanding the current migration patterns of Puerto Ricans and the increased population of the stateside Puerto Rican Diaspora, it has become imperative that Puerto Ricans be educated on important social, economic, education, civic and health issues that affect their well-being; engaged in the examination of the elements and structure of such issues as a basis for discussion and interpretation; and empowered to facilitate change and evaluate effectiveness.
