DescriptionJack Rutberg Fine Arts was founded in 1979, and presents major exhibitions of important Modern and Contemporary European and American artists. The gallery specializes in museum-quality works of paintings, drawings, sculpture, original prints and drawings.
ResponsibilitiesThis unpaid internship provides excellent exposure to many operational aspects of a fine arts gallery. Responsibilities may include assisting in the following areas:
• assist in design of marketing media (in print advertisements & online email marketing)
• answer and direct incoming telephone calls
• help prepare and install exhibitions
• pack and ship catalogs and artwork
• catalog inventory
• maintain artist archive
• clerical tasks such as filing, data entry
• assist & attend exhibition openings and other gallery related events
RequirementsThe position requires a minimum commitment of 9 hours per week (3 days minimum - must be available Tuesdays & Thursdays plus one additional day tbd). Gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday from 10 am to 6 pm, and Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm. Internship hours are flexible and will be determined on an individual basis.
Microsoft Office experience required
Basic Photoshop experience required
Basic HTML experience required
