Description

Buddha Cat Press is a socially conscious printmaking studio and publishing company in Culver City, California. Since 2004, Master Printer Karen Fiorito has owned and operated this fine art print shop, founding the publishing company in Downtown Los Angeles before moving to Culver City. Over the last 12 years, Ms. Fiorito has published prints with prominent artists around Los Angeles including Robbie Conal, Mear One, Gee Voucher, Winston Smith, Kofie and Chaz Bojorquez. She has also printed for the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), the Getty Museum and Beautiful Decay Magazine. Currently, we are in need of interns to help assist with the Master Printer's duties.

Responsibilities

- Assist in printing and art making operations: serigraphy, polymer plates and hand painting
- Assist in management, research, communication and coordination of art installations and shipping
- Assist in maintaining website, blog and social media network presence
- Handle and curate valuable artwork
- Support and expand public relations with collectors, media contacts, artists and the general public
- Assist in art studio maintenance and organization

Requirements

- Studio Arts, Art History
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication
- Possess multi-tasking and coordination experience
- Passion for art; actively involved in the art community
- Demonstrate attention to details while maintaining perspective
- Have basic working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, basic HTML
- Badin Knowledge of Printmaking techniques: Serigraphy, Lithography, Intaglio, Relief
