DescriptionLa Maison d'Art Gallery is a private art gallery/event space located in a NY Brownstone , also housing an art concept Guesthouse upstairs. The gallery was launched in April 2011 in Harlem. This is an opportunity to be part of a new and innovative art and event space. La Maison d'Art highlights and creates opportunity for artists living and/or working in Harlem as well as international artists coming to NYC. We also host professional and creative events to promote entrepreneurship and stimulate debates/workshops covering the multitudes of topics, dear to our community, but also ; stimulates a vibrant neighborhood merging art, commerce and community. Intern Schedule: TBD and flexible
Gallery Hours: Mon-Fri 9am-7pm - Weekends: 9-5PM
Shifts (min 4-hour): can be 8-hour day or 9AM-12PM, 12-4pm, 3:00pm to 7:00pm, Weekends 8-hour or noon-5pm
We are looking for an assistant taking photos of our events/Filming highlight reels for marketing purposes and posting on our Vimeo/and social media. Looking for more exposure through videos montage of our events.
Internship opportunity is on-going from April 2016.

ResponsibilitiesReception / greet and engage with guests
Research artists, organizations, etc. as needed
Assistance with art handling and installation
Assist with programming and special events including artist and curator talks, youth programming, wine tastings, etc.
Prepare e-mailings to clients, artists, realtors, and other arts organizations
Press mailings (ie. press releases, blog posts, etc)
Compose and send emails newsletters
Website and social media updates (very important)
Opportunity to outreach to artists and propose additional gallery concepts
Photography and design support
RequirementsExcellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Hard working, enthusiastic and self-motivated
Can work individually
Mature and cheerful attitude
Proficiency with MS Office, Photoshop, MailChimp templates and Social Media platforms.
Must have laptop/cell phone
We use Mailchimp - Wordpress - Squarespace Photoshop
