DescriptionWe are a world renowned Fine Art Gallery specializing in Modern & Contemporary prints, paintings, and sculptures. This is a unique internship opportunity for an organized and self-motivated candidate that will provide valuable insight into the world of Fine Art Collecting and Galleries. This internship includes first-hand experience in the administrative and marketing aspects of a profitable small business, as well as advanced knowledge of 20th Century art history and artistic media (specifically fine art prints). Additionally this intern will learn how to effectively facilitate online social media as well as invaluable SEO marketing skills.
ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities May Include:
- General administrative duties: maintenance of the gallery, data entry, filing, organizing stock room.
- Assisting with artworks: cataloguing artworks, photographing art & gallery, researching artists & works.
- Assisting with exhibitions & art fairs: organizing art, writing supplemental articles, and aiding with logistics of vendors and artists.
- Website & digital marketing assistance: writing articles/blogs, updating websites, social media posts & campaigns, marketing emails, marketing materials, website design, and SEO,
As a side note I always gear this internship towards the strengths and the interests of the individual intern. I allow the internship to focus on projects that are of interest to the candidate. RequirementsThe ideal candidate for this internship is a student from the following disciplines: Art History, Media Arts, Marketing, Design, Architecture, and or Online Marketing. We are looking for someone with excellent written and verbal language skills – multiple languages are a plus but not a requirement. Exceptional computer skills are necessary and familiarity with social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, etc.) would be advantages. Additionally any advanced design, photography or film editing skills would be helpful: Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator, Fireworks, Dreamweaver, and Finalcut etc.
This internship is located in Beverly Hills and reliable means of transportation is recommended.
This is an unpaid student internship for school credit.
