DescriptionWe are offering an opportunity to become part of the re-launch of Vasefinder.com - the number one ranked site on Google when searching for American Studio Pottery or American Studio Ceramics. It is home of the Vasefinder International Ceramic Exhibition – an annual online exhibition of over 100 renowned ceramic artists based in seven countries.
We believe that American studio ceramics increase in value and gain in significance when connected to their history. Currently, beyond our organization, there is no single repository for this important historical information. Vasefinder.com is committed to being the “go to” resource and, in so doing, become the premier resource for locating, identifying, purchasing and selling affordable American studio ceramics. The company is currently redesigning its website and will soon launch a social media campaign to discuss its exciting future plans.
ResponsibilitiesWe are creating a research internship position to further the work. The intern will provide historical research for our online museum. This historical research will be gathered to write biographies about American studio potters and to place their lives and work within the context of the art form. In return, we offer the opportunity to be central to the formation of this business and web launch. The intern will gain significant and referenceable work experience and, we hope, have tangible results to market and build upon.
RequirementsThe candidate for this internship should have the following skills:
• Strong research skills
• Capability to work independently
• Discipline to document and verify sources
• Photography skills
• Phone interview skills
• Capability to translate findings into informative biographies
• Social media skills to post findings
Students applying for this internship should be art, art history or ceramics majors.
