DescriptionThis starts out as an unpaid internship but depending on how well you do, it could become paid AND it would look great on your resume!
ArtBeat is a "pay it forward" platform that empowers artists by giving them an opportunity to sell their art or perform their music while encouraging them to keep creating. Not one artist can display their art or play their music unless they come to the party before, to ensure that all artists will always have people / support at their events. We have monthly parties at different venues in the Ferndale/Detroit area, and it could be a great way to help support the local artist scene, work for a startup, learn about all the behind-the-scene fun of event logistics, work directly with artists, be an art curator and help us choose who will be showcasing art at our parties, learn about artist management, and social media marketing behind a grassroots initiative that is starting to make an impact because we are helping people. It's a win win! But we can't do it without you!
Responsibilities1) Helping to coordinate all logistics for all ArtBeat events from scouting talented artists and being their main point of contact to making sure they send you photos of their art to promote.
2) Social media guru - using hashtags and posting photos of art / music to help build momentum for the upcoming parties on facebook, twitter and instagram
3) Communicating to the artist from start to finish so they understand the rules paying-it-foward (they can't display their art if they aren't at the party before).
4) Finding sponsorship from local businesses to tie in for co-branding when appropriate <<< this is where money comes in. If you get sponsorship, you get 30% of the sponsorship!
