Studio Assistant-ship with international artist Jae Yong Kim at JYK ART

jae Yong Kim/JYK ART is seeking interns/ part time IMMEDIATE help to assist in an artist studio environment. Experience in ceramic sculpture and painting is highly preferred.

Two types of positions available:

-Internship, 4 month duration from start date
- Part Time 16-30 hours

Interns/ workers are expected to show enthusiasm and dedication towards the general field of fine art. An ideal candidate would understand the importance of great craftsmanship, boast attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast pace environment. **The internship can be set up towards school credit.**

Throughout the duration of the internship, the intern can expect to grow and learn about the contemporary art field and have the opportunity to work closely with an internationally exhibiting artist. Interns will benefit by learning and developing techniques particular to ceramics and will gain contemporary art related knowledge.

Experience with ceramics and clay is a MUST but understanding of other mediums is welcomed.

Interns/ workers will assist with studio related work, packaging/handling of artwork. They should expect to maintain an organized and clean environment.

The ideal intern/ worker should be an attentive listener, a problem solver, a team player, goal orientated, and passionate about art.

Responsibilities

Internship commitment is 2 days per week from 10am-6pm.
Part time commitment would be 2-4 days per week from 10am-6pm.

Interns/ workers will be responsible for collectively maintaining a clean and organized environment while working closely with studio work, packing and handling of artwork as well as possible involvement with installing.

Interns/ workers must be highly reliable.

Requirements

Part time help 16-30 hours a week will be offered to qualified individuals, preferably graduated with a BFA or BA in art.

Internships will be offered to those who do not meet the full qualifications. JYK ART is looking for people of any age with experience in ceramic sculpture and/or painting.
