Go Solar/Green NY LLC is opening our doors to students interested in the renewable energy industry . We offer energy efficiency, solar and sustainable design trainings for both advanced professionals and those just looking to get their feet wet in the renewable industry.
If you are passionate about our mission to promote solar and clean energy this internship may be perfect for you.
At Go Solar/Green NY, you will have the opportunity to learn about clean energy workforce development, familiarize yourself with the renewable industry standards and qualifications needed to succeed and gain experience working.
Our Internship is starting from March 1st, 2013 and approximately 20 hours a week. Interns get access to all of our resources needed to be successful in the renewable industry.There is an opportunity for hire after the internship term based on your performance.

How to design a PV System (Sizing and estimates for Residential and Commercial Customers). From Modules to Inverters and length of cables, combiner boxes and disconnect, you will need to integrate all your knowledge and the tools you will be given to solve our customer’s requests.
How to use Computer drawings, applying AutoCad or other design software to Renewable Energy sector. This qualification is optional, but very useful when evaluating the mechanical and material aspect of the system. You will have to get familiar with the different mounting systems we are selling, from regular tilted rooftop to stand alone pole and tracking systems
You will be in charge of managing specific project according to your area of interest under the supervision of one of our engineers.
Helping to educate the public on solar electric power by writing for our web site.
Weekly job: writing on blogs, promoting the company and the knowledge you acquired.
Analyzing current solar systems on the market and doing efficiency comparisons and price / watt comparisons. In the solar industry, many prices are not standard, so you will have to go through the many competitors’ websites and understand their pricing policy and make sure the comparison are relevant and clear.
Analyzing customer type, location, application, demand curves, energy conservation measures, all aspects of solar market demand. Solar energy doesn’t make any sense if not coupled with a serious energy audit of the residence.
Responsibilities- Provide research on potential and existing clients and the competitive landscape
- Managing and following up on digital marketing campaigns
- Assist in identifying potential business opportunities
- Monitor news and developments relating to, or impacting, key clients/prospects
- Prepare periodic reports on screening, tracking, and monitoring clients and prospects
Requirements- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively as a team member
- Ability to communicate at all levels with internal/external clients by phone, email and face to face
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, and Power Point)
- A positive attitude with good organizational, presentation and writing skills
- Pursuing a Bachelors Degree or equivalent education
