Potomac Fine Foods produces, distributes and sells the Cava Mezze™ line of Greek-inspired dips and spreads. We produce our products fresh, daily in small batches using only the highest quality, all-natural ingredients. We deliver our products direct to grocery stores and specialty markets on the east coast. Everything we do is about quality and great taste.
Just last month we began an expansion into New York, New Jersey and Connecticut that will double the size of our business over the next 6 months. Over the next 18 months our company will continue to expand up and down the east coast, with the goal of becoming national brand over the next five years.
This position is for a student who wants to learn about entrepreneurship and business through hands on experience. It is for someone prepared to work hard and produce results, in order to get in on the ground-floor of a growing company. This is an opportunity to be exposed to all aspects of the business, and get quickly involved in helping it grow. The internship will focus on the company’s operations and candidates will work directly with the CEO, COO, Director of Sales, and the Director of Manufacturing Operations. You may even spend some time with our Executive Chef.
ResponsibilitiesAnything and everything. The more motivated you are, the more opportunity you will have to learn every part of the business with hands on experience.
One day you may work in the production kitchen, or on the packaging line. Another day you may be in the warehouse counting and organizing inventory. Most days you will probably be in the office doing research and analysis. You will spend a lot of time in web browsers and spreadsheets.
Some days you will be working in positions so that you can learn how the business operates. Every day you will be making a tangible contribution to key initiatives.
RequirementsCandidates for this position must be very entrepreneurial, with an enthusiastic personality, articulate communication/writing skills, and a detail-oriented mindset. You must be a hustler, a grinder. Someone with an incredible work ethic and eagerness to do whatever it takes to get the job done and done right. You must have the stamina to work long hours, for little financial compensation. You must have the dedication to make yourself invaluable to our company.
Proficiency with computers and software including Microsoft Excel is required.
• Currently be enrolled in, or be a recent graduate of, undergraduate or graduate school
• Have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
• Have completed sophomore year of undergraduate college;
• Be able to commit at least 25 hours per week
• Be able to work early in the morning – our plant opens at 5am
• Have transportation to and from our facility in Rockville, MD
This is a six-month internship. Motivated candidates should consider it an extended job interview
