DescriptionTheBlaze is looking for a intern to become a key junior member of the executive suite in our Irving, TX office. TheBlaze prides itself on an actively managed internship program where our trainees make important contributions to our site and learn a wide range of skills necessary to succeed in digital and broadcasting media. We are looking for driven candidates who embrace their enthusiasm of media and are excited to be challenged in a fast-moving entrepreneurial environment.
ResponsibilitiesDaily responsibilities will include (though not be limited to):
-copy editing, formatting and printing business letters
-conducting research projects and composing memos and write-ups.
-running errands on a daily basis (must have car)
-assisting with the completion of expense reports
-greeting important guests and helping conduct studio tours.
-assembling gift baskets
RequirementsSkills and Competencies:
All applicants should possess excellent writing and communications skills, have a sharp eye for detail, and should be interested in pursuing a career in media or publishing. The ideal candidate:
- Is highly organized and deadline oriented
- Has a deep understanding of current events and digital media
-Is incredibly proactive and eager to troubleshoot problems before (and as) they occur
-Is unafraid to ask for help or clarity on tasks
-dresses in a professional manner
-has a strong familiarity with the company’s history and purpose
Must be currently enrolled full time in an undergraduate program. Interns will be asked to work 15-20 hours a week during the school year and will be paid $10 per hour. Should the student’s university permit academic credit with payment, students may pursue credit for the internship.
