DescriptionAn internship with the Young Entrepreneurs Academy is unlike any other you’ve had. You’ll be challenged. You’ll be inspired. You’ll be proud. And you’ll be a part of something big.
At the Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!), college interns are an important part of the team. You’ll be working on critical projects that will help to further YEA!’s and the chamber’s mission and vision, as well as the expansion of both organizations. Better yet, you’ll be that much closer to landing a full-time job after graduation! Whether you’re helping create a strategic marketing initiative, interacting directly with legendary entrepreneurs and successful community leaders, developing relationships with local educators, landing a story in a national media outlet, coaching students to pitch their business plans to the “sharks” or arranging exciting field trips to local businesses, your experience as a YEA! Program Manager intern will arm you with valuable real-world experiences, as well the opportunity to hone and cultivate areas of interest or passion and learn new skills.
YEA! is a groundbreaking and exciting afterschool program that transforms middle and high school students into real, confident entrepreneurs. Through the 30 week-long program, students in grades 6-12 generate business ideas, conduct market research, write business plans, pitch to a panel of investors, and launch their very own REAL companies.
YEA! was developed in 2004 at the University of Rochester with support from the Kauffman Foundation. Today, the Academy can be found in communities nationwide.
YEA! Program Manager Interns commit 10-14 hours a week with flexible scheduling. YEA! Program Manager Interns are smart, enthusiastic, motivated, driven, talented, creative, impeccably professional, and are excited to be a part of a meaningful and impactful community initiative.
YEA! Program Manager Interns work with the Miramar Pembroke Pines Regional Chamber of Commerce and will assist in the management and coordination of the local Young Entrepreneurs Academy class. This includes assisting with student recruitment, solicitation of volunteers, coordinating field trips and management of all program events and activities. The YEA! Program Manager Interns will also help the instructor in the classroom as needed and will assist with communicating with parents, students and participants, securing media attention, and will be instrumental in ensuring the success of the students enrolled.
