WeTravel (www.wetravel.com) is an early stage startup based in San Francisco, backed by 500 Startups, Foundation Capital, and others. The startup provides do-it-yourself group trip management tool, saving trip organizers tons of time and trouble. It is free for students, financially safe/secure, and easy to use. Yale, Harvard, UPenn, MIT, Columbia, Northwestern, UC Berkeley, UCLA, Dartmouth, Michigan and various other top tier schools have used the platform for their career/social treks to 20+ countries in groups as large as 500 people. We are looking for a resourceful, independent, and personable intern to lead our outreach in the undergraduate market. This intern is in charge of growing the number of undergraduate student trip organizers that use WeTravel to manage their school trips and collect funds using the commission free payment processing tool.
Currently most of the users of WeTravel are graduate students. We have identified opportunities to expand to the undergraduate market. This intern will be working with the CMO/Co-Founder and the Director of Student Segment to reach out to the undergraduate market. The activities include identifying the leads, converting student trip organizers to WeTravel users, and onboarding them.

ResponsibilitiesLead generation: identify and source trip organizers that organize student trips, utilize customer relationship management software to track and monitor progress
User acquisition: conduct sales meetings/calls with leads (with potential travel), generate and execute ideas to convert leads to users
RequirementsKnowledge/relationships within the undergraduate student network
Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills (in-person and over the phone); cold calling experience is a big plus
Proven experience to manage a project and execute multiple tasks at hand
Driven, hardworking, and self motivated
Passion for traveling and startups
Availability to travel and visit campuses
