DescriptionMentorMint is a fast emerging startup based in Los Angeles, CA. MentorMint is an online marketplace connecting job seekers with mentors who have the career they want. MentorMint provides personalized career services for everyone regardless of field, background, or existing networks.
The mission of MentorMint is to help job candidates (mostly students right now) receive career guidance, position their resume, cover letter, how to network, expected interview questions to expect and how to answer them to get the job of their dreams. The mentoring is specifically tailored for the company or dream career you are looking for covering graduate programs like medical school and law school in addition to jobs. MentorMint is expanding the technology solution into an all encompassing career management tool for college students.
Background of team:
MentorMint is quickly ramping up at universities across southern California with strong relationships across southern California, New York, and Texas. The founder is an alum of Goldman Sachs, Adobe, Live Nation/Ticketmaster, UBS Investment Bank and served as USC MBA Class President. The founder has had a number of roles in marketing, finance, sales, technology, and business development across the above firms in cities ranging from New York, San Jose, Austin, and LA. The intern will learn the "best practices" used at top tier corporate firms while simultaneously taking a practical hands-on startup approach towards quickly ramping up the business across campuses nationally.
ResponsibilitiesThe intern will work under the direction of an experienced MBA marketer and responsibilities will grow with ability/experience. Data entry to start. The intern will take both a quantitative and social approach to marketing. The approach is a combination of corporate practices and startup mentality where the intern will use everything from social media tools, Excel Pivot Tables, approaching students on campus, project management, creating YouTube videos, streamlining the business process, and attending and participating in investor meetings. The culture is highly collaborative with every idea being valued regardless of age, background, or years of experience.
Other responsibilities include (but not limited to):
1. Data Entry to start
2. Growing the client base at university campuses
-Identifying which organizations to partner with and creating and executing on marketing plans
-Identify student needs to adapt the system as necessary - direct consumer testing is key and has included street teaming for quick feedback
-Identifying any product features/pivots based on marketing analysis
3. Conduct A|B testing using a variety of marketing methods and tools
4. Project Management
5. Social Media Marketing (Using Hootsuite to manage all at once)
6. E-mail marketing
7. Attending networking events and building potential institutional partnerships
8. Marketing strategy development
9. Your own brilliant ideas and skills on the product or strategy
