Candidate Minimum Requirements:
•Must have a bachelor's degree in a relevant field and be currently enrolled in (or recently completed) a relevant graduate program
•Ability to commit to 15 to 20 hours per week (office hours: Mon-Thurs 9-2pm) for a minimum of 3 months, with a preference for candidates who want 6 months of work experience to develop their skills and portfolios
•Essential equipment: smartphone, laptop, and headphones
•Outstanding verbal & written communication skills
•Organizational ninja who enjoys juggling multiple projects
•An upbeat goals junkie who enjoys contributing to the Ideasmyth team!
ResponsibilitiesIdeasmyth is seeking an awesome intern who has a passion for creating and implementing business opportunities for our Business Development Manager position. While this position is currently unpaid, the Business Development Manager will have opportunities to develop relationships with new clients, network with industry leads, and have a direct impact on the growth of the company. They will also have the advantage of being trained in creating top-level business strategies.
•Taking a leading role in drafting Ideasmyth’s comprehensive business plan
•Collaborate with the CEO and Manager(s) about the development and execution of business strategies
•Market research to help Ideasmyth expand its business
•Develop strategies on how to make the most of Ideasmyth’s marketplace niche with social media and events planning
•Research grant, loan, and other small business opportunities
•Develop a growth strategy focused both on financial gain and customer satisfaction
•Arrange business meetings with prospective clients
•Promote the company’s products/services addressing or predicting clients’ objectives
•Prepare sales contracts ensuring adherence to law-established rules and guidelines
•Provide trustworthy feedback and after-sales support
•Build long-term relationships with new and existing customers
Requirements•Ability to commit to 20 hours per week for 3-6 months (ideally the majority of that time in the office)
•Bachelor degree in Business, Marketing, Entrepreneurialism or other relevant fields
•Currently enrolled in (or recently completed) a relevant graduate program
•Interest in Business, Marketing, Entrepreneurialism using online social media tools
•Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize goals
•Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
•Technically proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, and Access)
•Detail oriented and strong analytical skills
•Strong teamwork ethic
•Strong time management and organizational skills
