Description

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The intern supports DC Minority Business Development strategies for the organization, which may include research, writing and distribution. The intern believes in the National Community Reinvestment Coalition's (NCRC) mission, is a high-energy and creative team player, and has superb relationship building and organizational skills. Our interns do substantive work and get exposed to a range of issues, including fair housing and fair lending, grassroots organizing and advocacy, community and economic development, and workforce development.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Help to define the scope of the project objectives, the organization, schedule, and overall approach.
Assist in the definition and implementation of the integration.
Develop Procurement Strategy
Assist the project team to support the handoff was completed successfully.
Qualify the opportunity. Assess the new business opportunity and provide advice on an appropriate decision to invest in the pursuit.
Assist in developing the capture plan. Develop a realistic, achievable plan that can be accomplished within the time available and against which capture progress can be measured.
Understand the opportunities objectives and requirements. Take the time to fully understand the opportunity's scope of work and the objectives to be achieved.
Develop a preliminary solution linked to objectives. Create a solution to perform the work that achieves the customer's objectives.
Position with the customer. Review the solution to shape the procurement strategy.
Assess the competition. Build a thorough, competitive assessment on which to base a win strategy and price to win.
Develop a win strategy. Identify your company's strengths and competitors' weaknesses to mitigate weaknesses, neutralize strengths and accentuate positive discriminators.
Establish a price to win. Establish a target price based on your competitive strategy and expected competitor pricing.
Assess risk. Identify, analyze and mitigate contract performance risk.
COMPETENCIES

Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
Strong presentation skills.
Knowledge of computer operations and programs.
Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
Experience in documentation of business requirements, analysis and features.
Effective problem-solving skills.
Able to build strong relationships with customers.

This is an unpaid position; however, course credit may be received. Please provide a writing sample with your application.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified applicants should be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business Management or Business Administration. Other business-related fields, such as marketing or accounting, may also be appropriate. Applicants should be following a course of study that includes classes such accounting, management principles, financial modeling, business law, marketing, and communications.
