Interns will obtain valuable life experience and business acumen. Candidates must have an interest in business and program development, as well as using social media as a tool that provides value to businesses and brands. The recent political and economic developments in the US-Cuba relationship present unique opportunities for Interns. Interns will examine the real and tangible intersection of history, politics, and economics, specifically as it pertains to Cuban society and life.



A. Business and Program Development:
Assist DiasporaES Directors with: (1) Updating and executing current business development plan; (2) Developing and deploying targeted marketing materials; and (3) Developing, executing, and managing current and future programs in and about Cuba.

B. Marketing & Social Media Brand Development:
Assist with website content and optimization, and social media updates for multiple platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Youtube, Instagram, Google+, HootSuite and WordPress. Duties consist of assisting DiasporaES Directors with content development, proper placement, tagging, and scheduling.



We are seeking a creative and independent graduate or undergraduate student with:
1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills (original content writing experience is desirable)
2. Eagerness to learn and willingness to be part of a team
3. Experience with website building and social media platforms, as outlined above
4. Some marketing/advertising experience/coursework
5. Some program development & management experience/coursework
6. Graphic design abilities
7. An up to date personal laptop
