Working in the Underwriting Services Internship program, you will be offered a direct view of the corporate insurance industry; including a better understanding of specific divisions that may interest you in a full-time capacity upon graduation; which may include applicable career paths within Actuary, Agencies, and of course-Underwriting!
As you gain professional work experience-you will also grow and develop professionally; whether you are working within various systems assisting the underwriting team, reviewing pictures for inspections, identifying errors, reviewing replacement costs for accuracy, reviewing coverage information, working with agents or the Assessor’s office via phone, and attending to special projects as needed- American National is passionate about providing you the foundation for a long lasting career.

The most successful candidate will possess both the below qualifications and attributes, listed below:
Must be enrolled in college courses, with one year remaining in degree program (highly preferred)
Risk Management & Insurance, Finance or Business majors preferred
Must be available at minimum, 15-25 hours weekly (Monday-Friday) while enrolled in college courses and have the flexibility to work up to full-time hours (37.50) during any breaks in college courses
Must have a strong interest in research, detail, and utilizing all available resources to provide resolution
Strong communicator who is a comfortable extending phone calls-required
