Description

This opportunity is for a Personal/Executive Assistant Intern for a speaker, author, activist, and entrepreneur that runs her own publishing company. The company Blooming Pen Press & Promotions is releasing their 4th book in February so you will learn about the publishing industry as well as manage business tasks. This internship lasts 4 months, but if you do well a paid-position may be offered. This is a remote position, so you can work from home. You must have a cell phone, speak English, have a Facebook account and be familiar with social media.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel as well as Google Docs
• Proficiency with Excel, Evernote, and Social Media
• Strong time management skills
• Must be a self-starter willing to take on projects and see them through to completion
• Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must be a team player with strong interpersonal skills
• Solid ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
• Interest in the publishing industry
• Demonstrates thick skin, common sense, discretion and trustworthiness
• Detailed oriented, organized and proactive

Responsibilities

- Schedule tasks and meetings
- Assist in project management and event planning
- Schedule social media posts
- Email and Verbal communications
- Learn the ins and outs of publishing books
- Reading, monitoring and responding to emails
- Handling queries
- Preparing correspondence
- Delegating work to contractors
- Organizing meetings
- Organizing travel and preparing travel itineraries
- Attending virtual and phone meetings
- Trailing key points on social media
- Writing minutes of a meeting
- Planning, organizing and managing events
- Conducting research
- Writing reports, newsletters,
- Preparing presentations
- Preparing papers or notes for meetings

Requirements

Good time management skills
Knowledge of Excel and Word
Proficient on all social media
Good communicator
Self-starter
Able to think ahead
Willing to learn new things and software programs
