The Bucket was established as a response to the need for an online way to plan funerals. Mark Twain said it best, “The only two guarantees in life are death and taxes.” The taxes market was already pretty saturated, so we opted for the former. There are four things we can almost all count on having to do at some point in life. Birth, taxes, marriage, and death. Three of these things are pretty well covered. But death, a $20 billion a year industry is largely untapped. That's strange considering people are, always have been, and always will be obsessed with their own mortality. They want control over all things in life, which is why sites like Pinterest (which lets you plan everything from your wedding to your wardrobe to what you're having for breakfast this week) are so successful.
So our goal is to put the "fun" in funerals. People don't know anything about planning funerals. When someone dies they're forced to rapidly make decisions. While they're grieving the loss of a loved one the funeral planning process forces them to be stressed and taken advantage of by funeral homes. On top of all that they have no idea what their loved one would have wanted.
This is where we come in. We've created a site called "The Bucket" and there's nothing like it out there. It would guide people through the process, connect them with vendors, spark the conversation of how they'd like to be remembered, give people more control, make the process easier, and shake up an industry that's well...dead.
What We Are Looking For:
We need an intern who can help us build and launch our website. This person will be working underneath the CEO and very closely with them. We will be starting with a landing page, but will be working to build the prototype in the background.
Interns will be given equity in the company in lieu of payment for successful completion of the work provided. Amount of equity is determined by quality of work, and is not to exceed 5%.
ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible for:
-Building website prototypes
-Testing solutions for the website
-Building landing pages
-Monitoring website traffic
-Other duties as assigned
-Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Adobe products such as Photoshop and InDesign
-Advanced Website Building Skills
-Strong Writing Ability
-Samples of work
