Description

Looking for a highly self-motivated, enthusiastic individual interested in joining. This position requires a high degree of creative thinking to fabricate and iterate composite parts quickly. Duties will change day-to-day as we evolve R&D composite structures into production. Under general supervision with some detailed instruction and training, this position allows for long-term personal growth while demonstrating meticulous care in delivered work. We’re seeking a very hands-on person enthusiastic about learning new uses and manufacturing methods with composite materials and building on space launch vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Trimming and finishing of composite parts
• Assembly of structures including setup, bonding and fastener applications
• Apply sealers, releases, base coats and finish coats using various spray equipment and hand rollers
• Perform product inspection and rework as required
• Track material usage and wastage for individual operations

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED/equivalent
• 2+ year experience manufacturing composite parts
• Comfortable operating general shop machinery (ie. Table saws, drill presses, hand tools)
• Strong attention to detail and continual pursuit of perfection
• Excellent listening and communication skills
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
• Strong safety work ethic (recognizes the importance of properly handing hazardous materials, chemicals, tools, etc.)
• Comfortable using Epoxy and other resin
• Direct knowledge of composite manufacturing in a non-factory environment using hand layup.
• Creative ability to make custom jigs and tool holding, as individual projects require
• Understanding of various composite material inspection techniques
